What You'll Learn & Do
You’ll learn what AI actually is, and isn’t, how it differs from automation and where it genuinely adds value. We’ll cover safe and responsible use, prompting techniques and practical applications across marketing, admin and analysis. Through guided exercises, you’ll practise creating content, analysing data and identifying workflows you can streamline — leaving confident and ready to act.
By the end of the day, you’ll have identified quick wins, practised on your business, and built a clear plan to implement AI tools immediately.

This session is designed to give you practical tools and approaches you can start using straight away in your business. We focus on what actually works, not theory. Throughout the day, you’ll work through the key areas step by step, building something useful as you go.
AI Foundations: Understand what AI is, how it differs from automation and the fundamentals you need to use it effectively.
Ethics & Risk Awareness: Explore bias, safety, responsible usage and practical guardrails for small businesses.
Prompting & Practical Skills: Guided practice on how to prompt AI properly to generate useful outputs.
Real-World Applications: Explore five key areas where AI is already impacting small business — marketing, customer service, administration and more.
Tools & Platforms: Overview of leading AI tools, including emerging AI agents and workflow solutions.
Hands-On Implementation: Practical exercises in content creation, data analysis, workflow automation and building your own quick-win plan.
Course Preparation/Prerequisites
Bring a laptop and power lead
Access to at least one AI tool (e.g. ChatGPT or similar)
